Course overview

This four-week live online practice series is designed to help you navigate both your inner and outer
world with greater resilience, clarity, and ease. Guided by experienced African facilitators, we will explore mindfulness, compassion, and practices of belonging and safety that support the creation of a reliable and nurturing inner landscape.

Each session includes live guided meditations, reflective exercises, and interactive discussions, offering practical tools to integrate these teachings into daily life. Through deep listening, self-inquiry, and shared presence, we will strengthen our ability to meet ourselves and others with kindness, authenticity, and greater self-trust.

Rooted in Buddhist meditation, this series also weaves in the wisdom of African spiritual traditions and psychological insight, creating a rich, holistic approach to inner growth. Together, we will explore how to cultivate a deeper sense of safety and connection - within ourselves, our relationships, and our communities.

This journey invites us to embrace wholeness, deepen self-trust, and foster compassionate spaces of healing—both within and in the world around us.

Your Facilitators

Hailing from Africa, our team of facilitators brings together decades of profound meditative experience. Throughout the four-week journey, they are devoted to imparting their extensive knowledge and skills to you.

Maia Marie is a healer, poet and meditation teacher. She has facilitated storytelling, self-expression and listening projects for over 15 years. She is an initiated healer within the West African Dagara tradition.

Nolitha Tsengiwe is a meditation teacher trained by the Insight Meditation Society. She is a Psychologist, Executive coach and a Leadership development consultant and has a trauma sensitive lense in supporting clients.

Phumla Shongwe began her meditation practice 20 years ago and this practice opened up the door to her ever deepening spiritual lifestyle. She is now a multi-certified yoga teacher, a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and an initiated healer. She is a skilled facilitator and has run multiple healing and mindfulness retreats for over a decade.

Shivani Ranchod is a sangha guardian who creates retreats and group programmes. She draws on her experience as a strategist, actuary and academic to re-build institutions in ways that honour the sacred feminine and interbeing.

Modules

All sessions are live, in real time, allowing for group engagement and progressive learning.

  • FINDING HOME WITHIN AS SELF-CARE AND CARE FOR THE OTHER: In this module, we explore the interconnectedness of caring for ourselves and others, recognising that when we nourish our own well-being, we cultivate the capacity to show up for others with greater presence, love, and authenticity.

  • RADICAL WHOLENESS: Embracing All That We Are. True safety comes from accepting ourselves fully. This module invites us to explore Radical Wholeness—welcoming all parts of our experience with openness and curiosity. We reflect on the ways we have fragmented ourselves and gently move towards integration, recognising that we are already whole.

  • COMPASSION: The Heart of Connection. Compassion is the foundation of a safe and nurturing space, both within ourselves and in our interactions with others. In this module, we explore how to cultivate deep, genuine compassion-learning to meet ourselves and others with kindness, understanding, and care.

  • SAFETY IN THE BODY: Finding Inner Ground. This module invites us to reconnect with the wisdom of the body, exploring grounding practices that move towards a sense of stability, ease, and safety. Through mindful awareness and gentle movement, we will listen to the body’s signals, cultivating trust in its innate intelligence and finding refuge in our own embodied presence.

FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS PARTICIPANTS

“Tectonic plates shifted inside
me, with all the amazing
speakers and ways they
approach the world and their
practice. I appreciate the care
you put into this offering. I really
felt as if I was learning this all
again, fresh, hearing it so clearly
in my heart.”

  • “Through this process, I've
    managed to cultivate
    unconditional love for myself
    once again. Every session I
    attended or listened to felt
like a warm hug. I'm so
    grateful for this toolbox that's
    rooted in such kindness and
    love.”

“I've been really focused on
practicing unconditional love
towards myself, without being too
hard on myself or completely giving
up my agency. I've realized that
every day is an opportunity to
embrace change and growth...I
wanted to go back to my old self.
But I've come to accept and
embrace the person I'm continually
becoming.”
